Indoor Plants You Won’t Have Any Trouble Taking Care Of

August 18, 2022

The trend of indoor gardening is on the rise thanks to Instagram's greenery-inspired home decor, plant-based blogs and podcasts, and subscription-based plant services online. While social media trends are known for having short lifespans, indoor gardening may last longer than most due to the many ways in which houseplants boost health and well-being. They have the ability to clean the air and improve your mood, in addition to being low-maintenance, elegant, and warm.

There are an endless amount of indoor plants types to choose from and if you've never cared for a plant before, you might find the prospect of shortlisting your options pretty daunting. If you want to add some greenery to your house but are new to plant parenting, here are a few suggestions that are more tolerant and low-maintenance.

Cactus

Cacti, like succulents, are versatile, diverse, and robust. Simply plant them and leave them alone, watering them only infrequently. These tough plants can withstand the low humidity in our houses as well as the neglect of otherwise-busy owners who prefer to drown their houseplants. The plant retains water in the fleshy tissues of its stalks, roots, or leaves and also has other distinguishing characteristics that aid in the reduction of water loss.

Heartleaf Philodendron

These plants flourish in almost any environment. This plant thrives in indirect light that ranges from mild to bright. As a general rule of thumb, it’s advisable to water this plant once a week when the soil has almost dried up. Furthermore, Heartleaf Philodendron prefers a humidity of 60 percent or more if feasible and no less than 40 percent as a minimum, which is the optimal humidity in a house anyway.

Pothos

Pothos is low-maintenance and can be used to decorate both office spaces and residences. This dangling plant is among the most adaptable of houseplants and can withstand both low and high light levels, allowing you to place it almost anywhere in your home. For optimum care, water your plant after the top inch or two of soil has dried up.

Herbs

The finest indoor plants are the ones that are also edible!  For scent, well-being, and practicality, nothing surpasses potted herbs. Simply place them on a kitchen window sill and water them every other day. They are winter cold resilient and summertime heat tolerant, and under normal conditions, don’t require staking. They are not invasive by seeds or roots and are resistant to repeating insect and disease attacks.

Final words

Researchers have determined that low-maintenance indoor plants help humans breathe fresh air by removing hazardous substances from their surrounding air. Plants are natural humidifiers that help keep and maintain the moisture balance in a closed space and in the workplace, they can modify room acoustics by lowering reverberation time.
