Yummy Oreo Truffles

Yummy Oreo Truffles

I’ve always said,  “You can’t trust a person who doesn’t like Oreo’s”. Now, there  might be some exceptions but I do believe that all the greatest people in my life are also big Oreo’s fans. Normally, I’m not much for sweets- I prefer to drink my calories in the form of red wine- but now that I have children and a sweet toothy husband, I find myself needing more dessert recipes than ever. We started experimenting with all the ways we could improve upon the already delicious goodness that Oreo’s has created for us: we’ve had deep fried Oreo’s, Oreo icebox pie, and chocolate covered Oreo’s with great delight. The best recipe we have found, however, is this one: yummy Oreo Truffles. These truffles are sooo creamy on the inside, it’s like how perfectly soft the cookie gets when it’s been dunked in milk for *just* the right amount of time. And the white chocolate outer shell just balances the whole experience out!

Ingredients
  1. 1 Package Oreo cookies
  2. 1 Package cream cheese, softened
  3. 1 package milk chocolate chips (or any chocolate you like
Instructions
  1. Finely crush the Oreos in a blender or food processor- it will take several batches to get all of the cookies processed. If you don't have either of these you can crush them in a bag with a meat hammer or rolling pin!
  2. Once crushed, add the Oreos to a bowl with the cream cheese and mix until completely combined
  3. Roll into 1 inch balls and place on parchment sheet lined cookie sheet- you should have about 45 balls
  4. Refrigerate for at least an hour to set
  5. While the balls are setting, melt the chocolate over low-medium heat in a saucepan
  6. Dip the balls, one by one, in the melted chocolate and set back on the parchment paper. The easiest way to do this is to use two forks, lower the balls into the chocolate, and return to the paper in one movement.
  7. Refrigerate again for at least one hour
Notes
  1. If you don't have the time to refrigerate the balls, set them in the freezer for half the time!
